Movies

Create realistic flying scenes for movies and TV commercials.

A vertical wind tunnel provides a safe environment for the creation of realistic flying scenes. Audiences will appreciate this authenticity when watching your film or commercial. We provide our flying acrobats and stunt doubles, who can perform extraordinary tricks in your project or help teach your actors how to fly!

built for movies

AERODIUM has manufactured the world’s largest open-air wind tunnel for the movie industry and TV commercial filming requirements.

This wind tunnel allows performing sophisticated acrobatic stunts as one would do in free-fall conditions, thus replacing expensive and risky jumps from an airplane.

CUSTOMIsED EQUIPMENT

We offer customised flight equipment for acrobats and actors – including flight suits, helmets, and goggles. AERODIUM stuntmen are capable of flying with various accessories.

Chroma keying possible. As the tunnels have up to 160 m2 large filming area for production purposes, they can be equipped with a safety mattress and walls to fit a particular movie or commercial theme.

Stunt Doubles

AERODIUM flyers can act as stunt doubles for the main actor or take on any other stunt role in your film or commercial.

Our team consists of both male and female acrobats and we can ensure flyers who match the physique of movie actors.

actor training

AERODIUM provides professional training for actors. Usually, a full-scale training programme takes about one month.

However, we can also create individualised training plan taking into account overall filming schedule and specific requirements of your actors.

Testimonials

  • Tom Cruise

“We trained on that (Peryton), just to figure out how are we gonna do this? Positions, lighting, the gear, testing the helmet. We couldn’t have done it without the wind tunnel.”

Tom Cruise, Mission: Impossible - Fallout
  • Jackie Chan Chinese Zodiac movie

“It was very, very hard work. I was very proud after I finished it. Now I am able to say that I once shot a wind tunnel flying scene!”

Jackie Chan, Hong Kong martial artist, actor, stuntman, filmmaker, action choreographer, and singer
  • Allan Hewitt PERYTON

“I’ve used the Peryton outdoor wind tunnel in 3 films now, and I’m sure we’ll use it again. We can create excellent skydiving sequences, and fit actors into the sequence with a little training. The audience will never know it wasn’t a real skydive. We can also use it for any flying sequence, that requires the actor to be the main focus.”
