Torino OLYMPICS CLOSING CEREMONY
The flight show and a custom-built wind tunnel by AERODIUM at the closing ceremony of the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin, Italy, was a milestone in vertical wind tunnel history.
Artistic culmination during the closing ceremony – flying acrobats’ show “The dream of flying” was the world’s first flight show that featured a wind tunnel and flying people.
Most spectators had never seen a vertical wind tunnel before and were fascinated by the flying humans with no wires attached. This event created a market for wind tunnel shows and events; the interest in a unique flight activity started rapidly growing.
