Macau Theme Park and Resorts Limited (MTPR) unveiled its latest integrated resort concept, Lisboeta, which draws on images of old Macau and introduces three new hotel brands to Macau.
“To me, it is a long-term investment. The indoor skydiving tunnel, which is the first in South China, will be built by Aerodium, and measure 4.2 metres by 12 metres.”
said Mr. Ho, also adding that instead of being a full theme park, the concept would be an integrated resort.
Known as the ‘Vegas of China’, Macau is indeed an epicentre of gambling and glitz. While luxury entertainment here is world-class, the city has much more to offer than that. Macau was a Portuguese colony for 300 years, a heritage marked by a wonderful cultural hybridity that manifests itself in all aspects of life: Chinese temples stand on maritime-themed Portuguese tiles; the sound of Cantonese permeates streets with Portuguese names; and when you’re hungry, it could be Chinese dim sum, pastéis de nata (Portuguese egg tarts) or Macanese minchi (ground meat stir-fried with potatoes) that come to the rescue.
First in Macau
AERODIUM new generation wind tunnel will be one of the most thrilling activities in the First Macau – Themed Integrated Resort LISBOETA, owned by Macau Theme Park and Resort Ltd. The unique Macau-themed integrated resort is the first of its kind, and will introduce many offerings new to Macau and the region, delivering an all-encompassing experience sure to entice guests of all ages, especially families and a younger demographic.
This billion project, more than 106 000 square meters large, will offer many thrilling activities, hotels, food & beverages etc. The project will open on late 2019. Indoor skydiving in Lisboeta, as the first in the South China region, will inhabit a fully frame less glass tunnel, offering players a seamless panoramic perspective.
Using state-of-the-art technology from international wind tunnel company, Aerodium, which has constructed over 80 wind tunnels in 27 countries, the tunnel spans 4 meters in diameter and stands at 12 meters tall. This attraction is sure to deliver exhilaration and thrills with its maximum airspeed of 280 km per hour.
